Floransa/Florence

     Floransa ya da diğer bir deyişle rönesansın doğduğu topraklar, Avrupa'nın "aşıklar şehri" olarak nitelendirilen şehirlerinden biri değil belki ama bence bir "aşk" şehri. Çünkü bu şehire adım attığınız andan itibaren Duomo'dan Arno nehrine, Ponte Vecchio'da Piazzale Michelangelo'ya kadar içinizde duyduğunuz duygu "aşk". 

     Florence or in other words the earth that the Renaissance was born, is not one of the European cities that is called as "city of lovers" but for me it it a "city of love". Because from your first step on this city, from Duomo to River Arno, from Ponte Vecchio to Piazzale Michelangelo the feeling that you have is love. 

     Floransa için "yükte hafifi pahada ağır bir şehir" benzetmesini kullanabiliriz çünkü yüz ölçümü açısından oldukça küçük olan bu şehir görülmesi ve gezilmesi gereken müzeler, saraylar ve kiliseler açısından oldukça zengin. Bence Floransa'yı adam akıllı gezmek için en az bir hafta gerekiyor, küçük bir şehir olduğu için iki günün yeterli olduğunu söyleyen tur şirketlerine aldanmayın.

     We can call Florence as "light in the weight heavy in the price" metaphorically because it is a small city with lots of museums, palaces and churches to be seen. In my oppinion a week is needed to see all Florence, don't believe to the tour agencies that say it is a small city and two days are enough.   

     Floransa'ya ulaşır ulaşmaz yapmanız gereken ilk şey şehrin ana tren istasyonu'nun (Firenze SMN) karşısındaki turistinfo'dan bir harita almak. Zaten haritada işaretlenmiş görülmesi gereken yerler ve her birinin önünde sonsuzluğa uzanan kuyruklar bu şehre neden iki günün yetmeyeceğini size açıklayacaktır. Haritayı aldıktan sonra hazır istasyona kadar gitmişken Basilica di Santa Maria Novella ve Museo di Santa Maria Novella'yı gezebilirsiniz.

     The first thing that you have to do when you reach to Florence is taking a city map from the touristinfo just across to the main train station of the city. (Firenze SMN) Just after you see the places to be seen on your map and the long lines that in front of each you will understand why two days are not enough. After you take the map you can go to Basilica di Santa Maria Novella and Museo di Santa Maria Novella across to station.

     Tabi ki Floransa ve katedral denilince akla ilk gelen Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Flore'dir. Piazza Duomo'da bulunan bu katedral dışardan o kadar etkileyici gözüküyor ki... Saat 10.00-17.00 arasında gezebilceğiniz bu katedrale girebilmek için yüzlerce kişiden oluşan kuyruğu beklemeniz gerekiyor. Katedrale dışardan bakınca ve dışardan daha az görkemli gözüken ama içi çok şatafatlı olan katedralleri hatırladıkça "Bu katedralin içi nasıldır acaba?" diyor insan, ama belirtmeliyim ki katedralin içi o kadar da şatafatlı değil, nispeten sade bir güzelliği var. Katedrale giriş ücretsiz ancak kuleye çıkmak için tekrar uzunca bir kuyruk beklemeniz ve ücret ödemeniz gerekiyor.

     Of course when you say Florence and cathedral the first place that should be reminded is Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Flore. The cathedral which is at Piazza Duomo seems so splendid. You have to wait a line of hundreds of people to visit this cathedral. Cathedral is open between 10.00-17.00. When i looked to the cathedral from outside and remembered about the other cathedrals that look less splendid from the outside but magnificent from the inside i wondered "How is this cathedral from the inside?" but i should say it is not that splendid from the inside, it has a plain beauty. Entrance is free but for climbing to the tower you should wait another long line and you should pay.

      Floransa'nın en önemli iki müzesi olan Galleria dell'Academia'nın ve Galleria degli Uffizi'nin önündeki kuyrukları tahmin bile edemezsiniz. Ama üzülmeyin size bir iyi bir de kötü haberim var. İyi haber bu müzeleri gezmek için internetten bilet alabilir, sıra beklemeden içeri girebilirsiniz, kötü haber internetten alınan biletler normal biletin iki katından daha pahalı.

     You can't imagine about the lines in front of the two most important museums of Florence, Galleria dell'Academia'nın and Galleria degli Uffizi. But i have one good and one bad news. The good news is that you can buy online tickets to see these museums and you can go in without waiting the line, the bad news the online tickets are two times more expensive than the normal tickets.

     Ve gelelim Medici ailesine... Medici ailesi bankacılık sisteminin kaşifi olan Floransalı aile. Haliyle oldukça zengin olmuşlar, her zengin insan gibi paralarını harcayacak bir yer ararken sanata merak salmışlar. Nasıl insanlardı bilemiyorum ama başta Avrupa olmak üzere bence bütün Dünya olarak bu adamlara borçlu olduğumuz, bankacılık sisteminden daha önemli birşey var: Rönesans. Rönesans'ın kelime anlamı "yeniden doğum", Roma imparatorluğuyla birlikte kaybedilen sanatın ve bilimin yeniden doğumu... Eğer siz de benim gibi Avrupa'yı değiştiren bu aile nasıl bir hayat yaşıyordu diyorsanız Palazzo Medici Riccardi'yi ve Capella Medicee'yi gezebilirsiniz. Vatikan'ı Vatikan yapan sanat eserlerinin Medici ailesinin gönderdiği sanatçılar tarafından yapıldığını düşünerek, en az Vatikan kadar şaşaalı yerler görmeyi bekliyordum ama gösterişli olsa da nispeten daha sade yapılarla karşılaştım.

     And the Medici Family.... Medici Family is the inventor of bank system that we use today so they became so rich that like every rich family they started looking for things to spend their money and they were interested in art. I don't know what kind of people were they but all europe and as all world we owe this family something more important than bank system: the  Renaissance. The meaning of the word renaissance is rebirth, rebirth of the art and the science that was lost with the Roman Empire. If you wonder how the family that changed whole Europe was living, you can visit Palazzo Medici Riccardi and Capella Medicee. If you think the artpieces that make Vatican that splendid are made by the artists that are sent by Medici family to Vatican, you can expect to see a place as splendid as Vatican, but i found some builds magnificent in a plainer way.

     Floransa'da beni en çok etkileyen yer Piazzale Michalengeolo oldu. Gün batışını izleyebileceğiniz bu tepeye istasyondan bineceğiniz 13 numaralı otobüs sizi götürür ama tavsiyem yürüyerek gitmenizdir. Merdivenlerin üzerinde oturarak Floransa'ya yukardan bakabilir, meydandaki müzisyenlerle mest olabilir, içinizde tekrar "aşk"ı hissedebilirsiniz. Hayatımda yaşadığım en güzel akşamlardan birini yaşadım bu meydanda. Ortamdaki bu güzelliği yaşamaya gelmiş arkadaş grupları, bir şişe şarap, güzel müzik ve Floransa eşliğinde romantizm yapan çiftler, gitar çalıp şarkı söyleyen sarışın bayan... Herşey bu ortamı mükemmel yapıyordu.

     Piazzale Michalengelo over a hill is the place that i have mostly affeted by. You can go to the hill where you can watch sunset by the bus number 13 that you can take from the station but i recommend you to walk. You can sit on the stairs and watch Florence, affected by the musicians at the square, you can feel "love" again. I lived one of the most amazing nights i have ever had there. Friends that come to live this beauty, couples that want to live the romance with a nice music, a bottle of wine and Florence and the blonde guitarist lady... Everything makes this square better.

     Bu meydana yakın Chiesa di San Miniato al Monte kilisesi ve kilisenin mezarlığı görülmeye değer. Kilisenin mezarlığında önemli aileler yatıyor, Vespuci ailesi de bunlara dahil. Her mezarda, o mezarın sahibine ithaf edilmiş ve o kişiyle ilgili simgelerin olduğu heykeller var. (Sahi Americo Vespuci'nin Floransalı olduğunu ve Amerika gibi Venezuela'ya da adını verdiğini biliyor muydunuz? Mektuplarında Venezuela sahil şeridindeki evleri Venedik'e benzettiği için bu ülkeye küçük Venedik anlamına gelen Venezuela adı verilmiş.)

   
     Chiesa di San Miniato al Monte is a church that close to this square and the cemetery of the church worths to see. Important families rest there, including the Vespuci Family. On every grave there is a monument that is dedicated to and have some symbols about the person rests there. (By the way did you know that Americo Vespuci was from Florence and also he also named Venezuela. In his letters he said that the houses by the coast of Venezuela look like Venice, this country was named as Venezuela which means small Venice.)

     Bir de tabi ki Ponte Vecchio, yani eski köprü. Bu köprünün önemi 2. Dünya Savaşı sırasında Almanlar tarafından harap edilmeyen tek köprü olması. Derler ki bir gün Hitler ve Mussolini bu köprünün üzerinde yürüken, Hitler Alman askerlerinden birini çağırır ve bu köprüye zarar verilmemesini emreder, bu sayede köprü sağlam kalır.

     And there's Ponte Vecchio, which means old bridge. The importance of this bridge is that it is the only bridge that wasn't buried by Germans. It's been told that one day Hitler and Mussolini was walking on this bridge and Hitler called a German soldier and commanded not to bury this bridge and so that the bridge stays safe.

      Floransa birçok sanatçıya can verdiği gibi bir de Pinokyo'ya can vermiş. Bartolucci mağazalarını, birşey almasanız da mutlaka gezin. Pinokyo maketleriyle fotoğraf çektirin.

     As Florence gave birth to lots of artists it also gave birth to Pinocchio. See Bartolucci squares even if you don't buy anything, have photos with pinocchio models.

     Floransa'daki Bar Vivoli dünyanın en iyi dondurmasının yapıldığı yer olarak anılıyor. Ama İtalya'nın her şehrinde bir tane "dünyanın en iyi dondurmacısı" olduğu için bu sizi pek heycanlandırmasın. Dondurması güzel mi? İtalya'da kötü dondurma deneyimim pek olmadı ki zaten... Onun dışında Bar Pontevecchio'da İtalya'da yediğim en güzel straciatellayı (parça çikolatalı kaymaklı dondurma) yediğimi söylemeliyim. Pizzacılar konusundaysa o kadar başarılı bulmadım Floransa'yı, dikkat edin de İtalyan pizzası yerine dondurulmuş pizza yedirmesinler size. Konaklama için size kendi hostelimi öneririm, şehrin tam göbeğinde, Hostel Youth Florence'de kaldım.

     Bar Vivoli is known as the bar with the best gelato in the world but don't get excited that quickly, every italian city has a bar with the "best gelato in the world." And i haven't had so many bad ice cream experience in Italy. On the other hand Bar Pntevecchio has the best straciatella that i had in Italy. But Florence is not so successful about pizzerias. Be careful otherwise they can serve you frozen pizza instead of italian pizza. For accomodation i can suggest you my hostel, in the middle of the city, Hostel Youth Florence.

 

     Birçok kişi benimle aynı fikirde olmasa da Floransa benim İtalya'daki en sevdiğim şehir. İtalya'ya yolu düşenlerin mutlaka görmesi, hatta uzun süre kalma imkanı olanların bu fırsatı geri çevirmemesini öneririm. Ben Floransa'yı aşk olarak hatırlayacağım, umarım bu şehir bana hissettirdiği güzel duygular konusunda size de cömert davranır.

     Although lots of people disagree with me, Florence is my favorite city in Italy. If you come to Italy, you should see and if you have the oppurtunity to stay longer, take this oppurtunity. I will remember Florence as "love", and i hope this city will be generous to you about the feelings that it made me feel.
